The Bears Den Restaurants choice for Executive Chef and Master of Cuisine is Alaa Daoud. Alaa has been performing his delightful culinary magic for over two decades. Alaa has traveled extensively throughout the world and brings to the Bears Den a wealth of culinary knowledge and experience. Alaa studied for four years at the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute and worked in some of the world’s largest hotel chains including the Intercontinental and Renaissance. Alaa relocated to Calgary in 1989 and pursued his Canadian Culinary Chef de Cuisine Certification from SAIT’s Culinary Arts program.

Trained by Swiss and French Master Chefs his resume includes some of Calgary’s finest restaurants and Premier Private Clubs; Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club, The Petroleum Club, Calgary Marriott Hotel and The Calgary Tower. Executive Chef Alaa’s passion is for simple yet sophisticated cuisine using the freshest and finest ingredients. Alaa’s enthusiasm for the splendors of Mediterranean flavours produces imaginative and stunning cuisine that can be enjoyed by all.
